Is privilege something that truly exists?

This work reexamines privilege, observing how it arises and operates within social and cultural contexts. It connects these observations to movement in a game-like format. At the start of the performance, the audience is given a few choices, one being to sit in a self-selected seat and view the performance from that perspective. Due to the unique arrangement of seats, the audience’s chosen spot may offer a clearer view of some aspects, while obscuring others on the opposite side.

How will each participant confront their own privilege in this sensory scenario?

This work seeks a neutral view on privilege, reflecting on how it is interpreted across various contexts and social frameworks. It links privilege to the contradictory psychology of humans and imbalanced social dynamics seen in culture, raising questions without prescribing answers. The movement within social and cultural spaces becomes an act, not merely a physical motion, accumulating meaning and intent. These actions, absorbed within the body, resonate back into society, inviting a deeper look at the notion of privilege.
